After more than a year in the making, the London book launch of “Sketchbook Reveal,” by artist and author James Hobbs, took place Oct. 4 — to a full house.
The venue, Topolski Studio, couldn’t have been more fitting. Legendary painter and reportage artist Feliks Topolski once worked in this very space and regularly hosted drawings sessions for students. Today, his grandson Lucien Topolski (see photo above) continues to preserve and promote his legacy.
During the event, Hobbs and Sketcher Press publisher Gabi Campanario discussed the inspiration behind the book and the role of sketching and physical sketchbooks in today’s digitally-fueled media landscape.
Afterward, visitors enjoyed a pop-up shop of Sketcher Press publications and a sketchwalk along the South Bank organized by Urban Sketchers London.
